#106 Primitive Grungy Handstitched Pin Keep Doll
This primitive grungy handstitiched pin keep doll will be perfect anywhere you'd like to place her!
Her stained and distressed dress opens on the side with a handsticked twine hook over a button to show two pockets.
The left side pocket has a small piece of antique quilt for the perfect pin keep. The right side pocket would be a great hiding place for a small pair of scissors.
This very primitive doll would also look wonderful tucked in a cupboard, a basket, or even on an old ticking pillow. 8"x5" she'll make a great addition to your prim home.

#38 Primitive Gravestone Sampler
I've stitched this Primitive Winged Head Gravestone Sampler. The pattern is by Country Rustic Primitives. The angel is so primitive and I just love her! The verse is from an old gravestone and reads:
As you are now so once was I
As I am now so you must be
Therefore prepare to follow me
1759
I've attached a strip of distressed calico with rusty safety pins for hanging. Or, if you'd prefer to just use as a pillow, remove the hanger. The cloth is grungy and heavily stained, while the back is out of very stained brown ticking with a calico heart hand stitched to the back. Measures 8"x6" not including hanger. Please check out my Beeswax Wares as I have a matching Gravestone Angel.

#39 1880 Wool Coverlet Pin Keep
I love hand work, however I always seem to have more than one thing going at the same time. I like to use baskets to keep my work seperated, but it seems I never have enough pin keeps to go around.
So I decided to take care of this problem by making some out of a nice piece of an 1880 blue and creme wool coverlet I had been saving for just the right project! I've made the front from the coverlet, and the back from a piece of coordinating calico. Then I stuffed it nice and tight with sawdust and whip stitched all around the outside.
I always keep a little piece of beeswax in my baskets to run my thread over to keep it from seperating. So, I decided to sew a little pocket on the back out of some matching calico and drop a honeycomb made out of beeswax inside. It has two little raised bees on the top and it's just the right touch for the perfect pin keep! I stained the back nicely to give it that just right prim look, then I stuck a large straight pin and a rusty safety pin on it to get you started. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them. I've dropped one in each of my baskets!!

#41 Primitive Distressed Pin Keep Sampler
Wonderful and oh so primitive pin keep pattern from Stacy Nash Primitives! I love all of Stacy's patterns. They are so perfectly prim and great fun to work! This one is Sarah Ann's Sampler Pin Keep. I had such fun cross stitching it. I heavily distressed the front and the back. I lightly stuffed it with batting. The back is out of calico and I attached the matching hanger with two rusty safety pins. The colors are very muted and softly faded. The little pin cushion at the bottom is out of a stained piece of blue and cream calico that has just the right amount of stuffing in it. To finish it off I cross stitched X's all around the outside seams. 7" x 8.5" not counting the hanger.
I'm working on several of Stacy's patterns, so check back often!

#71 Primitive Hand Painted Keepsake/Sewing Box
This quaint hand painted and distressed box makes a perfect keepsake sewing box. It's filled with all your necessary prim sewing notions and special items.
First is a very prim and oh so handy pin keep. I hand stitched a bee on the front and added a grungy calico print to the back. It's filled with needles and rusty safety pins.
Second a group of three black nubbies have been tied together with twine and cheesecloth. There's also a sweet little beeswax bird, perfect for hanging on a cupboard door. A prim bird tag comes too!
There are several wooden thread spools, buttons, a thimble, a perfect pair of small scissors, several strips of favorite cloth all tied together and of course a special little bird's nest.
I decorated the inside of the lid with stained and torn birds and nest pictures, feathers, and strips of cloth. Everything you need for a perfect day of mending. 7.5" x 3".
